A custom email with your domain is something I recommended for a blogger.
No, it’s not required, but it may as well be in your plan to get one.

Why does it matter if you use a free email instead of a custom domain email?
There are many benefits to having a custom email, therefore it matters. Here is a list of reasons why you may want to invest in one.
- It adds Professionalism
- Your Domain is included in the email
- Affiliate programs accept you faster
- Easy to remember for your audience
- It’s also affordable
Now let’s break down each reason and how it affected me personally as a blogger.
Custom Domain emails are professional
Having a custom domain email adds to your professionalism as a blogger. In the contact section, your email will look like this name/word@yourdomain.com.
This will make your email easy to remember which means you are easy to contact.
Custom emails are very appealing to the eye and look way better than a free email such as an @gmail.com or @yahoo.com.
When you have a custom email, it makes you look more professional and legit.
Affiliate Programs take you more serious
I applied to an affiliate program and the application included a yes or no question.
The question was…..
“Do you have a custom domain email or regular email? If you have a custom domain email you will be approved faster as an affiliate.”
At that moment I was like wow another thing I need to buy for this damn blog!
I mean don’t get me wrong, I love my custom email and I am so glad I have it. I really just didn’t want to add another expense for this blog when I already have 3 things on a monthly payment plan which adds up.
This investment was a smart one for me because I don’t have to wait a long time for brands to get back in touch with me. They see that I am serious enough to invest in myself, which is why I assume that they respond quicker than if you were using a regular google email.
Does it cost to have a custom email? How much does it cost?
Yes, getting a customer email with your domain name will cost you, but its not very expensive. Once I did my research on which email provider to go with I choose Outlook Microsoft.
(outlook cost $4.99 per month)
