Things to do before marketing on Pinterest group boards

As a blogger, Pinterest can be one of your main sources of traffic. In order for that to be true, you will need to join some popular group boards that are in your niche.

A group board is a board that is owned by someone who allows contributors to join and add pins as well. Most of the time group board owners post guidelines to join as a collaborator.

Before joining group boards we must create some valuable content that will inform the group board that your a serious blogger that will fit in perfectly!

If you havenโ€™t already, you will need to create a business Pinterest account named after or something similar to your domain name. Start editing your profile with a unique bio, profile photo, and banner.

Once you have created an account the only thing that is missing is pins that you create based on your blogs that are already written. If you havenโ€™t written any blog post yet then( click here to check out my blog post on how to find topics to write about that will make you money).

If you have written content already ready to be published and seen by the world, that will make the next step achievable.

Create Pinterest Pins

As we know, Pinterest is a very visual social media! People on Pinterest who are looking for a blog post like yours will find your blog by your unique graphics!

This means if you are blogging about finances you may have a graphic with money as a visual and words such as, โ€œ How to save $10,000 in 2020โ€

As you can see it is clear what I will be reading about before even clicking on the pin which leads to a blog.

This is how you gain the attention of your audience.

There are many ways to go about creating graphics, but my favorite designing programs are Canva and adobe illustrator.

Canva is free to use and Is what I use 90% of the time for my graphics. Sometimes I use adobe which taps into a more creative and customized look with graphics. Adobe Illustrator is great for anyone into customization.

As a blogger, I try not to spend too much time on graphics but when I do, Adobe illustrator and Canva never let me down.

Join Multiple Group Boards

Once your profile is up and looking less new, you can start to contact group boards in your niche.

This is an example of what a group board looks like…

Make sure you read their bio for instruction on how to join their group boards because there are different rules for different boards. Some will ask for you to kindly email them to become a member and some may require your profile to be a certain way before becoming a member.

Therefore, keep in mind that different boards may have different requirements to go by in order to be accepted as a contributor.

Check out my printable freebie for applying to group boards Here. This will help you stay organized with which group boards to apply to and their rules.
