How do you market a Blog?
There are many ways that you could go about marketing a blog. I will go into detail on where you can market to your audience, but you must be prepared to create a marketing plan to get the best results.
Here are a few things that are crucial to think about before you start marketing.
Before marketing, you should ask yourself……
- Do I have a logo?
- Do I have a color scheme?
- What information will I offer?
- How will I capture my audience?
These are a few questions you should answer before you start your marketing plan.
Once your blog has a purpose, it is ready to be shown off to the world.
Seo Writing
Seo marketing for a blog post is a free way to advertise your blog on any search engine.
All you need is a Seo writing technique that will help your blog rank highly on Google or any other search engine.
What is Seo writing?
Seo writing is search engine optimization writing. It is writing that is focused on grabbing the attention of the search engines such as Google with keywords, relevant to your topic.
Search engine optimization usually requires using these relevant keywords so that they can be easily found and identified on search engines when people search for certain things/(your keyword).
You want to find a keyword to rank in for every blog post, then use the keyword in the blog title, Blog’s Url, and Blog’s description.
I have the Yoast Seo plugin on my WordPress to help me optimize my blog post for the search engines. This plugin is FREE and a great tool that will help a ton when it comes to SEO writing.
The main keyword that you are using for marketing your blog with Seo should only appear when it’s relevant to mention.
I don’t recommend adding them everywhere because it can look very spammy and can be annoying to the reader.
Having keywords properly placed in relevant positions will help optimize your blog post without coming off as spam.
Google also has a keyword tool that allows you to find the search volume of each keyword and the competition to rank in that keyword on Google.
Here are some places that you should probably place keywords:
- Titles and/or Headlines
- Subtitles
- The Content in the blog post
- Links to other relevant pages with the same keywords or related
- Even inside of image descriptions
If your website includes too many of the same keyword or doesn’t sound human-like, it will be pushed lower in the search results. So make sure you are efficiently writing good SEO.
With an effective Seo marketing strategy, you will get organic traffic that comes from google searches.
Organic traffic is the traffic you get on your website from people who researched your keywords.
Social media marketing
Once you completely set up your brand, this will make it easier to market your blog on social media.
It’s up to you to pick which social media suits you and your blog best.
On Pinterest, there seems to also be a community of creative people looking for an informative post on how to achieve something.
This is the perfect social media for me to put my all into because of this.
I use multiple social media platforms, but as I said before, Pinterest is my favorite. Pinterest sends tons of traffic to blogger’s websites daily. I even use a Pinterest pin scheduler called Tailwind.
Tailwind is a great tool for bloggers to get massive traffic to their blogs.
I absolutely love Tailwind because it only takes me a couple of minutes a day to manage my pins instead of repeatedly pinning to group boards.
Tailwind does all the hard work and chooses the best times to market your pins.
Once you figure out your niche you could create many informative posts around that niche and make pins for them to promote on Pinterest manually or with my favorite tool Tailwind.
If your niche doesn’t seem like something you can generate many informative blog posts about, then you should reconsider the niche.
Paid ads
This is something you may or may or may not want to look into depending on your budget.
Starting out, I had no budget to pay for ads because I already was paying for multiple monthly subscriptions to keep my blog going. Let alone I needed more than what I already invested in.
Paid ads just weren’t something I could do at the time. Tailwind was a solution to my marketing problems and still is to this day.
If you can afford to invest in ads, do it and do it wisely.
Buying advertisements in the right place can win you some eyes as well as customers on your blog.
Here are some platforms that offer paid advertising for your blog…
- Snapchat
- Instagram ads
- Google ads
You could also pay an influencer that is relevant to your niche to promote your content on Instagram, Facebook, and even on Snapchat. Please be very strategic when paying an influencer. You should always check their analytics, likes, and comments to ensure their traffic is real and not bots that act as robotic followers.
These are all places and ways that you could pay to get traffic for your website. It’s your job to choose the best strategy for your budget and time management.
Now that you’re ready, Create a marketing plan.
Find out what works for you and your blog. Once you find a great marketing strategy that you can commit to, keep repeating that strategy over and over again.
You can always add and withdraw things in your strategy as you find what works and what doesn’t.
If you are properly prepared to market your blog, then it will become less of a duty.
Here is a list of things you should do to make marketing easier…
- Prewrite blog post
- Prewrite Email marketing scripts
- Choose social media to market on
- Make branded content
- Never stop writing
